Lab Members Awarded Prestigious Scholarships
We are proud to announce that two members of the Photonic Seismology Lab have been recognized for their outstanding achievements in research and teaching at Tel Aviv University.
Ph.D. candidate Eyal Shimony received the Aiden Foundation Award for Excellence in Teaching (2025) for his exceptional contribution to geophysics education and his commitment to mentoring and supporting students in the Department of Geophysics.
Ph.D. candidate Jonathan Levy was awarded the Dr. Rafi Katzman Memorial Scholarship (2025) in recognition of his academic excellence and promising research in fiber-optic seismology and interferometric methods. The scholarship honors the memory of Dr. Rafi Katzman, a Tel Aviv University geophysics graduate who was tragically killed in a car accident in 1998 while on postdoctoral research abroad.
These awards reflect the high level of dedication, creativity, and scientific curiosity of our lab members and highlight the continued excellence of the next generation of geophysicists. We congratulate Eyal and Jonathan on these well-deserved recognitions and wish them continued success in their research.
